ARTICLE 8: SALARIES
No officer, member of the Executive Board, committee chairperson or committee member shall be entitled to any salary/compensation for the performance of their duties. However, they may be reimbursed for approved and reasonable expenses incurred by them on behalf if the Booster Club, In the case of reimbursements, proper documentation for expenses is required and must be turned in for those expenses. All reimbursements are subject to the review of the Executive Board and the Audit Committee.
ARTICLE 9: AMENDMENTS
The Constitution and By-Laws will be review and amended as needed. Amendments to the Constitution and By-Laws of the Booster Club, as adopted, may be suggested at any time by any member of the organization or the Executive Board. All suggested amendments must be submitted in writing to the Recording Secretary and approved by the Executive Board, then approved by vote of the Booster Club membership. Adoption of suggested amendments will occur by two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of those members present at any regularly
called general membership meeting of the Booster Club.
ARTICLE 10: VOTING
To be eligible to vote, a member must be eighteen (18) years of age or older and have paid membership dues for the current year. Any member eighteen (18) years of age or older who is on a Family Membership while attending school is not eligible to vote. A quorum for approval of any purchases over $250 shall be defined as a majority of those members present at any regularly called Booster Club. A minimum of 20 voting members must be present. A quorum for approval of minutes, treasurery report, membership report and other non-expenditure items shall be a majority of the members present at any regularly scheduled general membership meeting of the Booster Club.
ARTICLE 11: CONDUCT
Any member displaying unethical conduct will be subject to such disciplinary action a may be considered appropriate by the Executive Board. Unethical conduct will include, but not limited to the following: using the Booster Club’s name without permission in soliciting funds or donations of products or any item of value; verbal threats or physical threats to other members of the Booster Club; and use of the Booster Club’s name, images, likeness or logo of the Columbus Cottonmouths Ice Hockey team for profit without permission. Disciplinary actions available to the Executive Board include, but are not limited to the following: Suspension from the Booster Club and from participation in Booster Club related events for a specified time or expulsion from the Booster Club, in the event a member is charged with unethical conduct and disciplinary action is taken by the Executive Board, the member may make a written appeal to the Executive Board which will then be presented to the general membership at the next regularly scheduled meeting of the Booster Club. A super-majority vote of four-fifths (4/5) of the eligible voting members present at the meeting will be required to overturn the disciplinary action determined by the Executive Board.
ARTICLE 12: EXPENSES
Section 1. Payment and Approval of Expenses Any expense of TWO HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS ($250.00) or less may be approved by the President alone when the expense cannot be presented to the general membership at a regular or special meeting due to time constraints. Any expense over TWO HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS ($250.00) must be approved by a majority of the membership of the club. Payment for approved expenses of ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00) or less may be signed by the Treasurer alone. Any expenditure of funds by the President, the Executive Board, or any member of the Booster Club with the approval of the membership of the Booster Club will require documentation of the transaction and be placed in the files of the Treasurer for the review of the Audit Committee.
Section 2. Player Party Expenses The expenses incurred from meals for players, players’ immediate family members or girl friends and office staff for Booster Club Player Parties (Meet and Greet, End-of-the-Year Party ) may be automatically paid by the Treasurer without a vote of the Booster Club membership.
ARTICLE13: COLLECTION OF FUNDS
Any funds collected in the name of the Booster Club shall be presented to the Treasurer for deposit in the Booster Club’s banking account. No member will be allowed to make determination of expenditures of funds without the direct permission of the Executive Board. Any funds used in such a manner, with the permission of the Executive Board, will require documentation of the expenditures.
