CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS OF THE
COLUMBUS COTTONMOUTHS BOOSTER
CLUB
ARTICLE 1: NAME
The name of the organization will be the Columbus Cottonmouths Booster Club.
ARTICLE 2: OBJECTIVE
The primary objective of the Columbus Cottonmouths Booster Club (“Booster Club”) will be to
further and support interest in the sport of professional ice hockey and to assist the Columbus Cottonmouths ( “Cottonmouths”) players. The secondary objective of the Booster Club will be to provide activities and opportunities for the Booster Club members to get together for social and entertainment purposes with each other and with the Cottonmouths players.
ARTICLE 3: MEMBERSHIP
Section 1. Eligibility Requirements Any adult person who is eighteen (18) years or older shall be eligible for membership in the Booster Club and shall become a member upon competition of the membership application form and payment in full of the annual dues.
Section 2. Types of Memberships There shall be three types of paid membership: 1) Single Adult Membership; 20 Family Membership and 3) Sponsored Child membership. Single Adult membership shall consist of one adult (18 years of age or older). Family membership shall include a mother/ father or both and their children (under 18 years of age) living at home and/or their children (18) older away at school. Sponsored Child membership shall consist of one (1) child (under 18 years of age) who is a relative of and is sponsored by a Single Adult Member or Adult Family Member. The Sponsored Child member will be able to attend the Booster Club meetings and functions in the supervision of their sponsoring member.
Section 3. Annual Dues For the purpose of paying annual dues, dues shall be due on or after September 1 of each year. The annual dues for an adult membership are Twenty-Five Dollars, ($25.00). The dues for a Family membership are Forty Dollars ($40.00). The dues for a Sponsored Child membership are Ten Dollars ($10.00).
Section 4 Honorary Membership The Cottonmouths players, players’ wives, coaches, trainers, equipment managers, administrative staff and office staff will be honorary members of the Booster Club.
Section 5. Courtesy Membership Persons wishing to join the Booster Club that resides over 90 miles from Columbus may join at the appropriate membership dues rate and receive a courtesy membership for so long as they express an interest in the Club. This section does not apply to persons relocating to the area. In the event, dues shall be at regular membership rates.
Section 6. Member Participation Each member (if listed as a family, they are considered 1member) will support the Columbus Cottonmouths Organization through the Booster Club by working each fundraiser at least one time during the season.
ARTICLE 4: OFFICERS AND EXECUTIVE BOARD
Section 1. Officers and Executive Board The officers of the Booster Club will consist of a President, First Vice President, Second Vice President, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, Treasurer and Sergeant-at-Arms.
Section 2. Duties of the Executive Board The operation and management of the Booster Club will be the responsibility if the Executive Board. The Executive Board will execute the expressed wishes of the membership, direct policies and activities of the Booster Club and represent the Booster Club in activities undertaken in cooperation with other booster clubs. The Executive Board will have primary authority regarding events not covered by these by-laws.
Section 3. Meeting Attendance and Performance of Duties All elected officials are required to attend all general and Executive Board meetings. Additionally, the officers will perform their duties as described in these by-laws.
Section 4. Duties of the President The President will call and preside over all General Membership and Executive Board meetings. The President will ensure that all committees function in accordance with the best interest of the Booster Club.
